Can You Say "Lincoln" 10 x's Fast....

As I read Obama's Indepence Day email, I couldn't help but notice the uncanny resemblance to President Lincoln's "Gettysburg Address." Is it just me?  Judge for yourself.

The Gettysburg Address

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met here on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of it as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But in a larger sense we can not dedicate - we can not consecrate - we can not hallow this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled, here, have consecrated it far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember, what we say here, but can never forget what they did here.

It is for us, the living, rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they have, thus far, so nobly carried on. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us - that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they here gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain; that this nation shall have a new birth of freedom; and that this government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

Obama's Independence Day email-

This weekend, our family will join millions of others in celebrating America. We will enjoy the glow of fireworks, the taste of barbeque, and the company of good friends. As we all celebrate this weekend, let's also remember the remarkable story that led to this day.

Two hundred and thirty-three years ago, our nation was born when a courageous group of patriots pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to the proposition that all of us were created equal.

Our country began as a unique experiment in liberty -- a bold, evolving quest to achieve a more perfect union. And in every generation, another courageous group of patriots has taken us one step closer to fully realizing the dream our founders enshrined on that great day.

Today, all Americans have a hard-fought birthright to a freedom which enables each of us, no matter our views or background, to help set our nation's course. America's greatness has always depended on her citizens embracing that freedom -- and fulfilling the duty that comes with it.

As free people, we must each take the challenges and opportunities that face this nation as our own. As long as some Americans still must struggle, none of us can be fully content. And as America comes ever closer to achieving the perfect Union our founders dreamed, that triumph -- that pride -- belongs to all of us.

So today is a day to reflect on our independence, and the sacrifice of our troops standing in harm's way to preserve and protect it. It is a day to celebrate all that America is. And today is a time to aspire toward all we can still become.

Kind of scary, huh?

C'est la vie!

Have you been watching the news lately?   North Korea has successfully launched a long-range rocket, capable of hitting Japan, Alaska, and possibly the west coast of the United States.  As I listened, I learned that our service men and women stationed in South Korea are on high alert. We're sending ships there as well.  Having a younger brother stationed in Seoul, and my eldest son serving in the Navy, this latest conflict has caused me to watch this crisis unfold, much more closely.  With Obama leading this country,  the "axis of evil" countries, North Korea, Iran, and Iraq realize--There is no leadership!  Since Barack Obama officially took office in January, they have proven so by their words and actions.  They knew rootin-tootin George W. would take drastic measures, with even the slightest threat against the United States. But as for Mr. Barack Obama, they've got his number.  He made it perfectly clear in his videotaped speech to the Iranian people and their government on Nowruz, the Iranian New Year:

"So in this season of new beginnings I would like to speak clearly to Iran's leaders. We have serious differences that have grown over time. My administration is now committed to diplomacy that addresses the full range of issues before us, and to pursuing constructive ties among the United States, Iran and the international community. This process will not be advanced by threats. We seek instead engagement that is honest and grounded in mutual respect."

When the President of the United States tells the terrorist nation of Iran, he wants to sit down and talk, there's a problem, and a big one at that. That we should have- discussions?  This, to a country that kills women if they speak to a man? That don't give a second thought to strapping on a bomb and blowing themselves up, all for the sake of Allah?! There is no compromise when it comes to a people that have no fear of death.  It's their way, or the highway!  They don't care about quaint little discussions or engaging conversations and do you know why?!   THEY'RE TERRORIST'S MR. PRESIDENT !!!  Oh, that's right, we're not allowed to use the term, "Terror" anymore, we might hurt their feelings......Once again, let me reiterate- THEY'RE TERRORIST'S MR. PRESIDENT-THEY DON'T HAVE FEELINGS!!!  They're idea of a good conversation is meeting in some cave or Ahamadinejad's office to plan the "Great Satan's" a/k/a, the United States of America's demise- What don't you get, Mr. Obama?!

At the G-20 Summit, he called us, his fellow Americans, "arrogant, dismissive and sometimes, derisive."  That's right Obama, anything to look good on the campaign trail... OOPS!! You're not on the campaign trail!   You were elected President of the United States, you don't need the European vote!  Even the leaders of France and Germany are telling you to quit spending! Look at the state of their economies!  Notice, universal healthcare doesn't work and hasn't for 60 years!!  I am outraged at what this narcissistic loon is doing to our country.  We literally have to take him on, I want this guy impeached!!  Sounds crazy but, if you think about it, we don't even have a place to run to- Where?  Mexico?  Canada?  He's already taken over GM.  He's spending trillions of dollars of our hard earned money, where is the uproar?  Don't get me wrong, but these cute little "Tea Parties" just aren't doing it for me.  What does he care that a few hundred Americans are dressing up and throwing tea in a river somewhere?  Can we come up with something a little more creative, something that might grab his attention, more so then some Earl Grey going over the side of a dock? It worked back in Boston  in 1773, but in this day and age, the shock value just isn't there.  In all seriousness now, what the heck is that going to do?  As we're tossing Tetley, he's trying to win over the European's.  Hey, Obama, how about winning over the American's, and not just the ones who voted you into office. Quite a few of the Obama loyalists are even having trouble remembering why they voted for him in the first place. Remember what they did to Louis XVI and  Marie Antoinette during the French Revolution?  The storming of the bastille?  Okay, so no guillotines this time around, but we do need to have a serious march on Washington.

I wish I could say I was being overly dramatic, but things are not good, and President Obama is only making things worse, with each carefully crafted speech he reads off of one of his many TelePrompTers and with every left-leaning stimulus bill he signs his name to. The only one who has been "dismissive" is- Barack Obama.  He tunes out the cries of the American people, yet basks in the praise of the Europeans and the leftist loons that glorify him and hang on his every last word.  He needs to brush up on his American History.  It is the American men and women that sacrificed their lives so the European's could live in freedom.  He also needs to do something about the "inflation" and I'm not talking about the economy this time around.  Popularity ratings will not fix the American economy or its relations with the European's, or the Middle East for that matter.  Some much needed common sense and hard work, as well as listening to the voices of the American people, is what will  turn this country around.  Hope your listening Mr. President, we've given you 4 years to hear us out. We "Hope" you can find the time to make some real changes, and some real choices.
